ACADEMIC GAMES INVENTION: A Key Performance Indicator of the OYOMESI Agenda

As a fallout of the OYOMESI Job Experience (OJE) Scheme, the Special Adviser to Gov. Abiola Ajimobi on Education, Dr Bisi Akin-Alabi tasked the creative and innovative minds of some Pupils that participated in the Scheme, by challenging them to develop academic games. This initiative forms the basis of the Pupils Social Enterprise Scheme which falls under the first strand of the OYOMESI Agenda – Character Education.

With these academic games, annual tournaments will be organised and hence, lead to an emergence of Captains, who shall become partners in ownership of the games, and thereby, rewarded with a token each time the game attracts players.

On Sunday, September 10, 2017, the inventors (Prime-Oyo Stars) of the games were recognised and duly acknowledged by the Old Boys Association of the Government College Ibadan at her 2017 Annual Luncheon Lecture and Merit Award, held at Felicia Hall, Jogor Event Centre, Ibadan.

The pupils had the rare privilege of meeting with an alumnus of the school (GCI), who is also the Executive Director/CEO, Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC), Mr Segun Awolowo Jnr. He expressed his delight in the pupils and promised to support the children to get their invention patented, with a possibility of exporting the games.
