LEARNING WHILE HAVING FUN

Most pupils have always shown a high dislike towards Mathematics because they feel it is difficult and abstract. This is a challenge to these pupils as they are not able to relate the teachings from the classroom to real-life scenarios.

In order to solve the problem posed by this challenge, a Mathematics enthusiast, Mrs Grace Ebunoluwa Olugbodi invented an educative board game named Race to Infinity, to aid the pupils’ ability to assimilate Mathematics lessons. The young entrepreneur expressed her interest in collaborating with the Oyo State Model Education System Interventions (OYOMESI), during a visit when she presented the board game to the Special Adviser on Education to the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Dr Bisi Akin-Alabi on Thursday, 24th August 2017.

Some OYOMESI Job Experience (OJE) Scheme pupils who were present at the Special Adviser’s office played the board game after being briefed on the instructions and rules that bind the game.

While commending Mrs Olugbodi for the good initiative she has taken in addressing a challenge in the educational sector, Dr Bisi Akin-Alabi stated that the game shall be endorsed for all private and government-owned primary schools in the state by Oyo State Government.
