OYOMESI LONG VACATION PROGRAMMES

Dear Parents and Guardians of Oyo State Pupils,

The long vacation is here again, what plans do you have for your wards? The Oyo State Model Education System Interventions (OYOMESI) has got you covered as it has organised 4 (Four) programmes that will present appropriate learning opportunities for our pupils in secondary school and keep them occupied during the holidays hence prevent anti-social behavior and misdemeanors.

These programmes are:
  • OYOMESI WAEC Boot Camp
  • OYOMESI Job Experience (OJE) Scheme
  • French Clinic
  • Cluster Learning for Digital Literacy
The OYOMESI WAEC Boot Camp is for SSS 3 students in preparation for their forthcoming West African Examination Council (WAEC) examinations. The Boot Camp which commenced on Monday, August 7, 2017, is aimed at providing the students with adequate coaching to ensure they pass their WAEC exams with good grades. The output from this whilst being most important to the students, will also have a multiplier effect on the State’s ranking amongst other States in the Nation.

The OYOMESI Job Experience (OJE) Scheme - This is a mandatory placement for pupils aged 14-18 years of age in a workplace, to afford them the opportunity to gain the much needed experience, knowledge and skills for employment. With the OJE Scheme, our students are a step ahead towards achieving their dreams, as they would get a glimpse into the workplace and gain useful insights that would prepare them to become responsible & effective members of work teams. The OJE scheme works in collaboration with private companies, government offices and MDAs who are willing to give young people access to shadow a career role or position in their offices. These roles may be directly or indirectly linked to their future career ambition and aspirations.

It is no news anymore that the world has transited to being a global village, as such, learning a second international language is an added advantage to one’s personal development and securing specific job opportunities. Therefore, OYOMESI is organising a Free French Clinic for our pupils to learn the French Language.

In the words of His Excellency, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, “The illiterates of today are not those who cannot read and write, but those who don’t have knowledge of ICT”.This tells us that ICT (Information and Communication Technology) is the future as it offers education, employment and empowerment to our youths, hence we will be doing our pupils a disservice if we don’t equip them with the right skill set needed to thrive in a globally competitive economy. This is why OYOMESI is

organising the Cluster Learning for Digital Literacy to ensure our pupils have ICT access and are compliant.

Do not deprive your wards of these amazing opportunities. For more information, please call their school Principals or 0905-569-1311 or send an email to info.oyomesi@oyostate.gov.ng or visit www.oyomesischools.com.ng.
